Mein Name ist Rie Yomura, bin gelernte Architektin und wohne seit 2010 in der Schweiz. Kamihimo ist ein wichtiges Hobby für mich, weil es Spass macht, sowie die Feinmotorik und Kreativität fördert.
Farbige Kamihimo gibt es in Japan seit ca. 20 Jahren, ist allgemein bekannt und wird immer beliebter. Es hat mich überrascht, dass Kamihimo hier in Europa noch gänzlich unbekannt ist und es schwierig ist das nötige Material zu besorgen.
Dies möchte ich mit dieser Webseite ändern. Die Leute sollen Kamihimo kennenlernen und das Material soll einfach und bequem bestellbar sein.
Die Kamihimo Bänder bestelle ich direkt aus der Fabrik in Japan und lagere sie hier in der Schweiz. Sie sollen schnell und günstig zum Endkunden gelangen.
Zudem stehe ich gerne für Workshops zur Verfügung. Anfragen nehme ich gerne unter Kontakt entgegen.

Hello, I’m Rie Yomura. I am a mother of three children from Japan, currently living in Switzerland. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always loved handcrafts, and became a fan of (fell in love with) Kamihimo paper band when I found it in Japan. I graduated from college with an architecture major and I found it very interesting that Kamihimo has infinite/unlimited possibilities as a crafting material!
Though Kamihimo crafting culture has bloomed for about two decades in Japan, it is still new and unknown to the rest of the world. I was very surprised that Kamihimo is almost impossible to find at many craft shops despite the popularity of other Japanese craft materials like Origami, masking tapes, and Washi papers. What motivated me to introduce Kamihimo crafts are the facts that it is eco-friendly material yet durable enough to sit on it as a seat of unique designed chair.
I created this site to introduce the Kamihimo culture to the world. You may think Kamihimo crafts is too difficult, but don’t worry! I try to share a lot of beginners recipes that are easy but fun to start.
